“Olga was a nanny for our family beginning when I returned to work and my daughter was three months old. She stayed with us until I moved out of the city—about two years. Olga was an exceptional nanny and had tons of great ideas on how to enrich my daughter’s life as well as teach her how to be well-behaved.

One of my favorites, that I use to this day (my child is 6 now), is the rule that it is fine for a child to wander around a room or a park, but that the child needs to be able to see my eyes. She also taught me not to use the word ‘no’ too much with my daughter. She said that if I can explain the thinking rather than saying no, it will go a long way toward my daughter not getting into a terrible habit of reflexively saying no.

Besides her thoughtful approach to discipline, Olga was also smart to coordinate with other nannies to provide socialization for my daughter. In those years, my daughter went to a bunch of baby and toddler birthday parties and played at parks with a small set of cute kids that Olga brought into our lives. To this day, my daughter still talks about Emma and Elyse, the two little girls she often played with.

I loved having Olga as our nanny because I felt really supported as a mother. She had done so much thinking and had so much experience that she really created best-in-class shortcuts for me. If I had another child, I would be signing up for her in-home daycare. Five-star recommendation.”

“Olga was our night nanny for about 8 weeks when our baby was born. She was great; we felt completely confident with our newborn being in her care. I got up during the night to nurse the baby or pump and always felt comfortable with Olga. We also really appreciated Olga’s flexibility. We weren’t sure exactly how long we’d need a night nanny for, and she didn’t require a fixed commitment upfront (which a lot of agencies asked for) and had no problem ramping down to fewer nights per week for the last week or two.”
