One of my favorites, that I use to this day (child is 6 now), is the rule that it is fine for a child to wander around a room or a park, but that the child needs to be able to see my eyes. She also taught me not to use the word, 'No' too much with my daughter. She said that if I can explain the thinking rather than saying no, it will go a long way towards my daughter not getting into a terrible habit of reflexively saying no.
Besides her throughful approach to discipline, Olga also was smart to coordinate with other nannies to provide socialization for my daughter. In those years, my daughter went to a bunch of baby and toddler birthday parties and played at parks with a small set of cute kids that Olga brought into our lives. To this day, my daughter still talks about Emma and Elyse, the two little girls she often played with.
I loved having Olga as our nanny because I felt really supported as a mother. She had done so much thinking and had so much experience that she really created best-in-class shortcuts for me. If I had another child, I would be signing up for her in home daycare. Five star recommendation." - FJ
